The International team produced a brilliant fightback in the foursomes on day two of the Presidents Cup to take a commanding 7-3 lead over the United States at Medinah. The US had led 3-2 after Thursday's fourballs but were beaten in all five alternate-shot matches on Friday, boosting the Internationals' hopes of a first victory since 1998.

Geoff Ogilvy's side secured their first point as Sungjae Im and Hideki Matsuyama defeated Russell Henley and Jacob Bridgeman 3&2. Corey Conners and Nick Taylor then held on to beat world number one Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns by one hole, with Burns' 20-foot putt at the last lipping out. Ryan Fox and Min Woo Lee edged Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark by one hole, while Adam Scott and Christiaan Bezuidenhout beat Justin Thomas and Cameron Young 3&2. Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim wrapped up the dominant day with a 4&3 win over Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.

Four further foursomes and four fourballs are scheduled for Saturday, followed by 12 singles matches on Sunday.
