George Russell led from start to finish to claim victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. The Mercedes driver produced a stunning pole-sitting lap and controlled the race, holding off Max Verstappen who finished less than two tenths of a second behind in second. Isack Hadjar completed the podium on his return from a wrist injury, out-qualifying Verstappen and playing the team game when needed.

Russell was rated 10/10 for his dominant performance, while Verstappen earned 9/10 despite power and energy deployment issues that hampered his qualifying. Hadjar's 9.5/10 rating reflected his impressive comeback, and Charles Leclerc scored 7.5/10 after a strong qualifying result that couldn't be matched in race pace.

Kimi Antonelli recovered from a Q1 crash to finish fifth, reducing his championship deficit to Russell from 81 to 66 points. Lewis Hamilton had a quiet weekend with sixth in both qualifying and the race. Elsewhere, Arvid Lindblad narrowly beat Esteban Ocon at the finish line, while Carlos Sainz recovered from a grid penalty to claim the final point.
