Aston Villa secured their first Premier League win of the season at Tottenham, with Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki playing a key role. Suzuki, signed from Parma for around £30m in August, made crucial saves from Savio and benefited from a moment of fortune when Archie Gray's shot clipped off his foot. Villa boss Unai Emery praised Suzuki's quality, skills, and willingness to take risks in possession.

The 24-year-old also assisted the second goal with a booming long pass from his own box, allowing Nicolas Jackson to score. Born in the United States to a Ghanaian father and Japanese mother, Suzuki has earned 28 caps for Japan and played in Japan, Belgium, and Italy. Former coach Dennis Rudel described him as a potential world-best goalkeeper, praising his physical strength, mental clarity, discipline, and big hands.

Emery noted Suzuki is already among the top four or five goalkeepers in Serie A and a role model as a person and player.
