Motherwell continue to defy traditional Scottish football thinking despite losing their transformational manager after just one year. New manager Alfred Johansson has overseen an unbeaten start to the season, extending their unbeaten league record. Speaking at an event for the Well Society, vice-captain Stephen O'Donnell highlighted how continuity has benefited the squad. The club is providing a blueprint for other Scottish sides following an unprecedented period of transfer income totalling more than 10 million pounds across the past year. Notable departures include Calum Ward to Queens Park Rangers and Elijah Just to Swansea City.

Midfielder Joe Hodge and centre-back Martin Moormann have been recruited to strengthen the squad. Motherwell face Rangers at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday, 5 September.
