Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his eighth goal against Newcastle as Leeds United won 4-1 at Elland Road. The striker, who also assisted, was given a standing ovation when substituted.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke backed Calvert-Lewin for an England recall, saying: "He's a handful and tough for each and every defender." Calvert-Lewin has three goals in his past four games and is the Premier League's leading English striker as Thomas Tuchel prepares to name his squad on Friday for Nations League fixtures against Spain and the Czech Republic.

Jamie Carragher called his display "almost perfect" and "unplayable". Calvert-Lewin is the second Leeds player to score in five consecutive Premier League home appearances after Mark Viduka in 2003.

Leeds have 35 points in 2026, behind only Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Bournemouth. Newcastle, unbeaten in their first five games under Matthias Jaissle, were bullied and outfought.
