Arsenal are open to allowing 16-year-old Max Dowman to leave on loan this season if it benefits his development. The teenager set records last term as the youngest scorer in Premier League history and for the Gunners. Though yet to feature in the league this campaign, he scored twice in Arsenal's 4-2 Carabao Cup win at Ipswich on Tuesday.

Manager Mikel Arteta said the club will evaluate Dowman's situation every six months, balancing his needs with squad requirements. Dowman turns 17 on 31 December, making him eligible for a loan move when the winter window opens the next day. League One side Luton, managed by former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, is reportedly interested.

Arteta, who went on loan to Paris St-Germain at 17, stressed the importance of the right environment and playing time. The Gunners have won all seven domestic and European fixtures this season, starting with the Community Shield victory over Manchester City. Dowman hopes his Ipswich performance earns him a spot for Saturday's Premier League trip to Brighton.

Arteta emphasized that consistent delivery on the pitch and in training is the best way for the youngster to force his way into the first team.
