Over the past couple months, the HN feed has become almost exclusively AI or AI-adjacent news, while broadly hacker-related content gets left out. I noticed because genuinely interesting posts now get zero traction, and I no longer see similar stuff from others. Two recent examples: Lenovo's solid-state air cooling, which enables super-light designs and bigger batteries (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49580229), and Brax Industries' open-source devices, especially their modular wall display with on-device processing compatible with Home Assistant (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49643215). I believe these would have gained traction a year or two ago.

HN is no longer a good source of "what's new"—it's almost exclusively AI talk. Maybe YC could curate content to give drowned-out articles a visibility bump, or at least introduce tagging so we can filter.
