Apple today released watchOS 27, the newest operating system for Apple Watch, compatible with Apple Watch Series 9 and later, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later, and Apple Watch SE 3. The update is free and can be downloaded through the Settings app on the watch.

watchOS 27 introduces support for Siri AI, a more capable version of Siri that uses personal context and onscreen awareness. There's a new Siri Modular watch face, updates to Smart Stack, improvements to Liquid Glass, and a consolidated Find My app. Siri AI requires an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone, including iPhone 15 Pro models, iPhone Air, and all iPhone 16, iPhone 17, and iPhone 18 models.

Other features include Workout Buddy, Call Context, cycle deviation notifications, a single-handed tap gesture for Smart Stack, and a new Siri Modular face. System improvements include a dynamic app grid, consolidated Find My, faster media playback, more accurate treadmill distance calculations, and offline Shazam.
