Telegram Returns to Apple Watch with Native Messaging App

Telegram users can now check and reply to messages directly from their Apple Watch. The messaging platform has released its first-party watchOS app, bringing basic chat functionality to Apple's wearable lineup after years of relying on third-party solutions.

The new app handles message viewing and responses, plus sharing stickers, voice notes, and location data. Telegram founder Pavel Durov confirmed the launch on social media, marking a return to Apple Watch support that disappeared when the original app was pulled from the App Store several years ago.

Third-party Telegram clients filled the gap since the official app's removal, but none matched the integration that comes with native support. The Apple Watch version gives Telegram parity with other major messaging services that already offer watchOS companions.

This restores a feature that power users have been requesting, though adoption of wrist-based messaging remains limited compared to phone-based communication.
