Nintendo is ending service for its mobile game, Mario Kart Tour, on September 29. The game, which launched in September 2019, will not have an offline mode, making it unplayable after the shutdown date. In-game currency purchases have ceased, and automatic subscription renewals are now ended.

Players with a Gold Pass subscription will receive its benefits for free until the service ends. Those without a subscription will gain access to Gold Pass features like 200cc races and increased coin/point limits starting August 4. Any remaining rubies can be spent in various in-game shops and modes until September 29.

Mario Kart Tour achieved over 90 million downloads in its first week and mirrored traditional Mario Kart gameplay with racing, drifting, and item usage across various tracks and characters. Nintendo has a history of discontinuing mobile titles, including Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Dr. Mario World, while titles like Fire Emblem Heroes and Super Mario Run remain available.
