Apple today announced that Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition will launch on Aug 6 in Apple Arcade. The new entry is built for the service with a season‑based structure and current NFL rosters, offering a full Madden experience without ads or in‑app purchases.

The title includes Franchise and Quick Play modes, with player ratings drawn from real NFL performance. A weekly story engine drives Franchise mode, casting players as GM and guiding a team through shifting storylines and toward a championship. Controller support spans iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.

Alongside the release, Retro Bowl College+ debuts on Aug 6, putting players in charge of one of 250 college programs. On Sep 3, NFL Retro Bowl '27 adds a Gauntlet Mode that challenges players to string 15 wins in a row, with progress carrying over even after a loss.

Existing Arcade sports titles receive updates: NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition adds Tyrese Maxey as a Paragon player and expands to the 2016‑2024 era; PGA TOUR Pro Golf gains a new course, Bear’s Best Atlanta; NFL Retro Bowl '26 launches Historic Super Bowl challenges. Apple Arcade costs $6.99 per month in the U.S., is bundled with Apple One plans, and offers free, ad‑free gameplay across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Vision Pro.
