Apple unveiled iOS 27 this week, bringing a suite of Wallet upgrades for iPhone 11 and newer. The update expands the enhanced boarding‑pass design introduced in iOS 26 to loyalty, rewards, membership and gift‑card passes, adding richer background images and informational tiles. The beta runs on iPhone 11 through 15, and Apple plans a September public release.

iOS 27 also adds hotel keys that surface trip details and activity updates, though Apple withheld a brand list. Users can scan any barcode‑bearing card with new Siri mode in Camera, instantly creating a custom Wallet pass that displays as a QR or barcode. Four additional barcode formats—EAN‑13, Code 39, Codabar and ITF—are now supported. These hotel key enhancements follow Apple’s 2024 push into contactless hospitality.

In the United States, Wallet now lets users split receipts with Apple Cash via Siri‑driven receipt scanning, automatically calculating tax, tip and each person’s share. Order‑tracking expands beyond the U.S. and U.K., reaching Australia and Canada. A developer beta is available now, with a public preview slated for July and a full September rollout. Early adopters can download the developer beta via Apple’s TestFlight program.
