Downgrade from iOS 27 Beta to iOS 26

After installing iOS 27 beta via the Apple Developer Program, users sometimes encounter usability or stability issues such as app crashes, battery drain, or unresponsive features. If you have an archived backup from before the beta, you can simply erase the device and restore that backup, keeping all data intact. Without a pre‑beta backup, the device must be set up as new or restored from an older compatible backup; only a READY backup taken before the beta can be restored after downgrading.

To downgrade, connect the iPhone or iPad to a Mac, launch Finder (or iTunes on Windows), and put the device into recovery mode—vol‑up, vol‑down, then hold the top or side button until the recovery screen appears. When the restore dialog pops up, select Restore; the computer will erase the beta and install the latest publicly signed version of iOS 26. Wait for the process to finish and then restore your backup or set up the device anew. Note that any Apple Watch running watchOS 27 beta will not work with the downgraded iOS, and downgrading the watch must be done by sending it to Apple.
