Deezer's Free AI Music Detector Now Scans Apple Music and Spotify Playlists

Deezer has introduced a free online tool that scans playlists across 20 streaming platforms for AI-generated content. The detector works with Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, and YouTube Music, allowing users to import their playlists and receive alerts about synthetic tracks. Users simply visit the AI music detector site, select their platform, and grant permission for the scan.

CEO Alexis Lanternier said Deezer launched the tool because no other company had followed their lead in detecting AI music. The company found that nearly half of users migrating from other platforms bring AI tracks into their collections. Deezer now processes over 60,000 AI-generated tracks daily, representing roughly 39% of all music delivered to their service.

Apple's approach differs significantly. In March, they introduced optional Transparency Tags that indicate AI involvement in music creation, but artists and labels aren't required to use them. This voluntary system creates gaps in disclosure that Deezer's detector aims to fill for concerned listeners.

The problem extends beyond mere detection. Deezer's data shows that up to 85% of streams on AI-generated music were fraudulent in 2025, highlighting how synthetic content threatens the integrity of streaming platforms. This detector gives users a way to identify potentially fake tracks regardless of their chosen service.
