Bypass macOS 27 Siri AI Waitlist with Terminal Hack

Apple’s macOS 27 Golden Gate developer beta now lets users sidestep the official Siri AI waitlist with a simple Terminal tweak. By editing the GenerativeModels.plist file, the new conversational assistant activates immediately on any test machine, on Intel or Apple Silicon hardware. The method assumes familiarity with the command line and a current backup, as Apple disclaims liability for data loss.

The command—sudo defaults write "/Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/GenerativeModels.plist" "EnhancedSiriWaitlist" -dict-add Enabled -bool NO—must be entered in Terminal, then the Mac rebooted on supported macOS 27 builds. After restart, Siri AI appears in the dedicated app, supports text and voice chats, and syncs history via iCloud. Integration extends to Spotlight search and right‑click context menus, though the feature remains English‑only and unavailable in the EU and China.

Early testers report the workaround is safe and permanent; no reversal is needed once Apple opens the waitlist. Enabling Siri AI now gives developers a chance to experiment with cross‑app actions, personal context searches across messages, emails and photos, and a more conversational UI for power users and enterprise pilots. The hack demonstrates how quickly the community can unlock hidden OS capabilities.
