Apple released Safari Technology Preview 244, rolling out bug fixes and performance improvements across a wide range of browser technologies including CSS, JavaScript, WebGL, and WebGPU. The update targets features Apple plans to bring to future Safari releases and follows the experimental browser's decade-long track record, first launched in March 2016 to let users and developers test work in progress.

The update runs on macOS Sequoia and macOS Tahoe, and installs through the Software Update mechanism for anyone who downloaded the preview from Apple's developer site. Release notes cover fixes spanning Accessibility, Security, Media, Networking, and Web Extensions, among other areas.

No developer account is required to use Safari Technology Preview, which can run alongside the standard Safari installation. The update reflects Apple's ongoing strategy of gathering external feedback on browser development before features ship to the public.
