1Password Integrates with Claude for Secure AI Logins

1Password has introduced an integration with the AI service Claude, allowing Claude to access stored credentials for completing browser tasks without directly exposing passwords. Passwords and one-time codes are handled by 1Password, never reaching Claude's context or Anthropic's systems.

When Claude needs to log in, 1Password prompts the user for approval, then autofills the credential directly onto the page. This access is limited to the specific task. Additionally, 1Password's browser extension now features "Agentic Mode," which locks down password access when an AI agent is active, ensuring secrets are not exposed even without direct integration.

Currently, only logins and one-time codes are supported; credit cards and identities are not included. The 1Password for Claude feature is available for Mac users on business, family, and individual plans, requiring a Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise Claude plan. Both the 1Password desktop app and browser extension, along with the Claude desktop app and Claude in Chrome extension, are necessary for use.
