vivo has confirmed the September 16 unveiling date for Origin OS 7.0, the new Android 17-based skin. The update will be announced at the upcoming vivo Dev Conference (VDC). At the event, the company will also introduce Blue OS 4, its next-generation platform for smart wearables, smart home products, and IoT devices.

Ahead of the official launch, vivo has been teasing new features on Weibo. The update features a liquid glass-like user interface with improved animations and lighting effects, plus new Liquid Themes for the lockscreen and a system-wide sticker library. Other additions include Atomic Workbench for traditional phones, improved memory management, and an upgraded "unfair scheduling" algorithm. vivo also highlights Storage Compression 2.0, which can free up to 20GB of additional storage on a 256GB device.

The company claims a 14% improvement in graphics rendering, up to 12% faster app startup times, and a 19% improvement in page-switching response speeds. The update can reduce power consumption by around 20% during UI animations and screen rendering. vivo is expected to reveal device support and public availability details at the event, alongside the launch of its latest vivo X500 series later this month.
