Nothing has officially rolled out Nothing OS 5.0, based on Android 17, to all Nothing Phone (3) users. The update follows an open beta program that began in late August. The rollout is staggered, meaning availability may vary by region and device. Users can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > System > System update on their device.
The new OS version introduces a redesigned launcher, a new Micrographics clock face, deeper personalization options, improved performance, and enhanced Essential AI tools. It also includes all the features Google incorporated into Android 17.
Looking ahead, Nothing has outlined its update roadmap for other devices. The Nothing Phone (4a), Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, Nothing Phone (3a), and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro are scheduled to receive the stable version of Nothing OS 5.0 in early November. In mid-November, the Nothing Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus will follow. The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is expected to get the update in late December, with the Nothing Phone (4b) and the CMF Phone 2 Pro set to receive it in mid-January.
