Total Wireless has become the first US carrier to eliminate Western Union transfer fees through its mobile plans. The Verizon-owned MVNO now includes one monthly international money transfer to over 200 countries for customers on MAX 5G BYO, MAX 5G, and ALL ACCESS plans. This benefit works through Western Union's mobile app or website starting immediately.

David Kim, president of Verizon Value, said the move addresses financial realities in underserved communities. He emphasized that customers should not have to choose between staying connected and supporting loved ones financially. The partnership targets practical needs of immigrant families and workers who regularly send money internationally.

Jesse Mory from Western Union highlighted that transfers represent more than money—they're about making financial services accessible globally. This integration transforms a standard wireless plan into a tool for maintaining family connections across borders. The service launches without additional costs beyond existing plan pricing.

Total Wireless customers gain immediate access to send money to over 200 destinations monthly at no extra charge. This positions the MVNO as a competitor to traditional carriers while addressing real financial pain points for specific demographics. Other carriers will likely watch adoption rates closely.
