Samsung Display detailed its latest and brightest smartphone LTPO OLED panel today, which will soon make its way to the i QOO 16. It uses Samsung’s M16 luminescent material, which is also present on the i Phone 18 Pro series and i Phone Duo. But the one that is set to make its debut on the i QOO 16 is advertised to reach an industry-topping 10,000 nits peak local brightness.

That’s the maximum brightness level that the panel can achieve in a small isolated area on the screen for short bursts of time (seconds to a few minutes). The global peak brightness, which is the one you’ll actually achieve on the entire display panel is rated at 2,800 nits. The LEAD 2.0 display will also bring several advances over previous iterations, like improved color accuracy and better power efficiency.

Samsung revealed it will consume up to 30% less power than the M14 panels and also produce less flicker with 3,300Hz pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming. i QOO 16 display specs The panel will feature WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 px), a variable 1-165Hz refresh rate and a 5,000Hz touch sampling rate. It also features Samsung’s anti-reflective coating and a polarizer-free design (on-cell film), which embeds the RGB color filters directly over the OLED material. Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra models are also expected to gain the M16 OLEDs.
