Samsung Galaxy S26 May Get Google Scam Detection

A code leak in Google's Phone app suggests the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 series will support Google's Scam Detection. The feature, currently exclusive to Pixel 9 and 10 models, uses on-device Gemini Nano AI to identify scam calls in specific markets.

This would mark a significant expansion for a key security feature. The code references the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra model numbers, with the Scam Detection feature codenamed "sharpie." It's unclear if Samsung will adopt Google's Phone app system-wide or grant the Play Store version deep system access.

The move could pressure Samsung to integrate more Google AI services directly into One UI. If implemented, it would bring advanced call screening to a much wider audience, potentially setting a new standard for Android security. The official unveiling is expected next month.
