Samsung's upcoming smart glasses have been spotted in the wild through its companion app. The Samsung Galaxy Glasses Manager app, obtained by Sammy Guru, shows the Android XR-powered wearables alongside their charging case. These images reveal what appears to be the Warby Parker model that Samsung has been developing.

The app will handle core device management including settings adjustments, software updates, and feature toggles. Users can automatically sync photos and videos captured by the glasses directly to their Samsung smartphones. Integration extends beyond just the phone app, with support for controlling the glasses through the Galaxy Ring using gesture controls and a separate Galaxy Glasses Controller app for Galaxy Watch users.

While Samsung hasn't announced official launch timing, the company's next Unpacked event rumored for July 22 in London could provide the first public glimpse. These smart glasses represent Samsung's entry into the extended reality market, competing with offerings from Meta and Apple. The Android XR platform positions them as more open than proprietary alternatives, though exact capabilities remain under wraps until the official reveal.

The integration with existing Samsung ecosystem devices suggests the company is betting on seamless connectivity as a selling point. Whether consumers will embrace another wearable category from Samsung remains to be seen, especially given mixed reception of previous smart glasses attempts in the market.
