Samsung Discontinues Galaxy Z TriFold in US

Samsung has officially discontinued the Galaxy Z TriFold in the United States, following its earlier discontinuation in Korea. The tri-fold device, which offered a unique three-panel folding design, was available in extremely limited quantities during its brief retail lifespan. The last US restock occurred on April 10, and that inventory has now completely sold out.

Samsung's official page now states the Galaxy Z TriFold is "completely sold out," marking the end of this experimental device in the US market. The company is directing disappointed customers toward alternatives like the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy S26 Ultra, both of which feature traditional single-fold designs. While these remain excellent flagship options, they lack the distinctive triple-folding capability that made the TriFold unique.

The discontinuation raises questions about Samsung's future plans for innovative form factors. Recent rumors suggest a potential Galaxy Z TriFold 2 could arrive in 2027 with improvements including a thinner and lighter design. The company may also be developing a sliding-screen or rollable smartphone. While the original TriFold's short life was tumultuous, Samsung appears committed to pushing foldable technology boundaries despite this setback.
