The global Redmi Note 17 Pro uses the same Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset as the Chinese version but comes with a smaller Si/C battery — 8,340mAh instead of 9,000mAh. Despite the capacity drop, it's still a major upgrade over the Redmi Note 15 Pro's 6,580mAh. Xiaomi also boosted charging to 67W Hyper Charge, up from 45W.

In Active Use testing, the phone scored 17:31h, a solid improvement over the 15 Pro's 15:26h. However, the Poco X8 Pro Max with a slightly larger 8,500mAh battery achieved an impressive 25:21h. Gaming performance drags the score down due to the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4.

Compared to the vivo V70 FE, which has a 7,000mAh battery, the Redmi Note 17 Pro scores better overall but loses badly in gaming — 7:50h vs 10:56h. Charging speed is underwhelming; the 67W system struggles to keep up with faster 100W solutions like the Poco X8 Pro Max. By 30 minutes, the Redmi trails most competitors, and by 100%, it matches the 15 Pro's charging time.

The Poco reaches full charge nearly 30 minutes faster, highlighting what the Redmi could have been with more aggressive charging tech.
