Red Magic's latest gaming tablet, the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, launches in China with impressive hardware that could make it the most powerful Android tablet of 2026. The device succeeds last year's Red Magic Astra and introduces the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and a massive 1TB UFS 4.1 Pro storage option. Pricing starts at CNY 4,999 for the base model.

The tablet retains the familiar 9.06-inch OLED panel but upgrades the refresh rate to 185Hz from 165Hz on its predecessor. Red Magic employs a Synaptics S3930 touch controller for 300Hz sampling rate, reducing input lag. An updated liquid cooling system sits exposed on the back, while the proprietary Red Core R4 gaming chip handles performance optimization. RGB lighting maintains the gamer aesthetic that defines the brand's appeal.

A standout feature is the PC emulator with Steam support, integrated into the Game Space app. This custom translation layer runs x86 applications and games at up to 2K resolution with 144Hz refresh rates. The 8,300mAh battery supports 80W fast charging, and a second USB-C port accommodates peripherals while the primary port handles maximum charging speeds.

Available in Silver Wing and Dark Night, the tablet ships in China starting July 7. The top-tier configuration reaches CNY 6,999, positioning this gaming-focused device as a premium alternative to mainstream tablets that lack serious performance credentials.
