Qualcomm is reportedly considering an official solution to better support PC game emulation on Android. According to a Chinese YouTuber, the company may add proper support for DirectX 12 on its Snapdragon chips. If this happens, it would make emulating PC games on Android much easier.

The YouTuber tested the capability on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 reference device and managed to successfully run Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong through a translation layer in DirectX 12 mode.

It's unclear whether Qualcomm will bring this feature to other SoCs aside from its latest and greatest. It's also unclear if the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 would get this as a driver update - that's probably down to the smartphone makers, anyway.
