Oppo's new Reno16 Pro has launched globally with upgraded hardware compared to its Reno16 sibling. The device features a Dimensity 8550 Super processor, a 200MP main camera, and 12GB of RAM as standard. It shares the same sleek 3D Pop Planet design with the base model, incorporating Oppo's Holo Verse 3D technology with a nebula-inspired effect. Both phones include a dedicated AI Snap Key on the upper left edge for quick camera access.

The Reno16 Pro distinguishes itself with a 144Hz maximum refresh rate versus the Reno16's 120Hz, and it launches at a discounted €900 until July 31st (normally €1,100). The phone packs a large battery that could reach 6,700mAh depending on the market, along with an 80W charger in the box. ColorOS software is promised to stay smooth over six years of use.

Both models feature the same design language, with the camera island seamlessly blended into the rear panel. The AI Snap Key can be customized to launch the camera, flashlight, or other apps, similar to OnePlus's approach. The Pro variant comes in Pop White and Starlight Black with 12GB/256GB or 12GB/512GB configurations.

The Reno16 Pro represents Oppo's latest attempt to compete with mid-to-premium Android phones, offering high-refresh-rate displays and computational photography. While the differences between the Reno16 and Pro are minor on paper, the upgraded processor and camera sensor justify the price premium for power users.
