Nothing Phone (4a) vs Pro: Camera parity, build differences

Nothing's fourth-generation smartphones are now available, with the Nothing Phone (4a) shipping this week and the Phone (4a) Pro entering pre-orders. The vanilla model closes the camera gap with a 50MP 3.5x telephoto lens matching the Pro's hardware, addressing last year's key upgrade incentive. This year's differentiation focuses on build materials and performance.

Both models feature nearly identical camera systems, but the Phone (4a) Pro gains an aluminum frame and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset versus the vanilla's plastic build and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. The Pro also includes LPDDR5X RAM and a vapor chamber for cooling, delivering tangible graphics performance improvements. The regular Phone (4a) uses older LPDDR4X memory.

The pricing structure shows the Pro commanding a €100-150 premium across markets, with the Phone (4a) starting at €350/£350 and the Pro at €480/£500. Both models feature distinct Glyph designs - the vanilla has a simple bar while the Pro sports a dot-matrix display. The Pro is notably coming to the US market, expanding Nothing's availability.
