Nothing has officially concluded the lifecycle for its debut smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1). The company confirmed that the device has reached its end-of-life stage for software updates. Users can expect the final rollout to complete within the next few days, marking the end of an era for the brand's first major hardware entry.

This final software package includes the July 2026 Android security patch alongside various bug fixes and stability improvements. When the device launched in July 2022, it arrived with Android 12. By delivering this final update, Nothing has fulfilled its original commitment to provide three major Android OS upgrades and four years of security patches.

While the hardware remains functional, owners will no longer receive security patches to protect against new vulnerabilities. This transition places users in a position where they must consider hardware upgrades to maintain a secure mobile experience. The company suggests moving toward newer models like the Phone (3) to stay current with modern software standards.
