Motorola Razr 2025 Gets Android 16 Update in US

Motorola has finally begun rolling out Android 16 to its 2025 Razr foldable lineup in the US, including the Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra models. The update comes months after Google launched Android 16 last June and just days after the Android 17 beta debut. This delay highlights Motorola's typically slow update pace for its devices.

T-Mobile and Verizon customers with the Razr 2025 or Razr Ultra 2025 should see update notifications soon. The firmware builds are W1UC36H.96-35-1 for the Razr and W1VL36H.59-55-5 for the Razr Ultra, with each update weighing approximately 4GB. Users should download only on reliable networks to avoid errors during installation.

Like most Android updates, this rollout is happening in stages, meaning not all users will receive it simultaneously. While the update is welcome, the timing raises questions about Motorola's commitment to timely software support for its flagship foldables. The Razr 2025 series represents Motorola's latest attempt to compete in the premium foldable market against Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip lineup.
