Announced by Motorola, the Moto G17 and Moto G17 Power are the latest additions to the G series. Both phones share the Helio G81 Extreme SoC and a 50MP primary camera. Key differences lie in battery capacity, charging speeds, RAM, and storage. The Power variant boasts a larger 6,000 mAh battery with 30W charging, while the standard G17 offers a 5,200 mAh battery at 18W.

The Moto G17 Power comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and the Moto G17 has options of 4GB/8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Both phones feature a 6.72-inch LCD with a 60Hz refresh rate. They run on the dated Android 15 OS, with security updates promised until February 2028 for the G17. This launch continues Motorola's focus on the budget-friendly market.

These phones aim to compete in the highly competitive mid-range market. Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an IP64 rating. The Moto G17 Power comes in Pantone Alaskan Blue and Pantone Evening Blue, while the G17 offers Pantone Bordeaux.

Available in the UK and Europe, the Moto G17 starts at £149.99, while the G17 Power is priced at €229. Pricing and availability details for other markets are still pending. With their focus on affordability and decent specs, Motorola aims to maintain its position in the budget smartphone segment, a key battleground for market share.
