Motorola Edge (2026) shrinks to 6.3" display for US launch at $600

Motorola surprised US and Canadian buyers by shrinking the Edge (2026) to a 6.3-inch OLED display, breaking the trend of ever-larger screens. Previous models in the US market featured 6.6-inch and 6.7-inch panels, while this smaller variant will hit Motorola.com and Best Buy on June 11 for $600 unlocked. Carrier variants from AT&T, Cricket Wireless, and others arrive simultaneously.

The display specs impress despite the smaller size, offering 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a blazing 5,200 nits peak brightness. Under the hood sits MediaTek's Dimensity 7450 processor, which delivers only modest improvements over its predecessor. The phone ships with just 8GB RAM and 128GB storage—half the capacity of the Edge (2025) model—though Motorola promises three Android OS updates.

Photography gets a mixed upgrade with dual 50MP rear cameras, 4K video recording, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. The 5,000mAh battery supports 60W wired charging that hits full capacity in 7 minutes, plus 15W wireless. New IP68/IP69 ratings and Gorilla Glass 7i protection aim to double drop resistance versus last year.

Motorola's strategy here feels contradictory—shrinking the display while reducing storage and delivering minimal performance gains. The $100 Moto Buds 2 launching alongside offer better value with dual drivers and 55dB noise cancellation, potentially overshadowing the phone itself.
