A new report claims that while Apple will unveil the foldable iPhone Ultra at its September 8 event, the device will not be released at the same time as the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apparently, the iPhone Ultra will only be released in the US first, followed by a handful of other key markets, including China.

Production problems are reportedly to blame, with suppliers hitting more issues than expected during verification tests, specifically regarding the hinge and foldable display. Mass production was initially scheduled for June but has slipped to August, with engineering validation potentially causing further delays.

Interestingly, the report claims Apple will not announce pricing for the iPhone Ultra at the event. The device is expected to be significantly more expensive; for instance, it could cost up to AUD 3,699 ($2,613), which is roughly AUD 700 higher than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8.
