A research note from analyst Jeff Pu reveals the iPhone 18 will receive 12GB of RAM, a significant increase over the iPhone 17’s 8GB. The device is also expected to adopt the new Dynamic Island design, which will first appear on the iPhone 18 Pro. This claim contrasts with an earlier statement by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who suggested the iPhone 18 would only have 9GB of RAM, similar to the iPhone 18e. Jeff Pu clarifies that only the iPhone 18e will feature 9GB, while both the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are slated to be powered by the A20 chip.

Rumors indicate the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 could launch simultaneously in early 2027, with the Pro models likely debuting in September 2026. The additional RAM is anticipated to enhance Apple Intelligence capabilities and support the refined Siri experience coming in iOS 27. Current iPhone 17 models with 8GB RAM are available in 256GB and 512GB configurations, priced between €782 and €944, highlighting the upcoming performance leap for the next iPhone generation.
