iPhone 18 Pro Max thicker, Ultra skips MagSafe in new leaks

Leaked dummy units reveal the silhouettes of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the newly named iPhone Ultra, the rumored successor to the Fold. Case makers receive CAD renders, so dimensions and camera island shapes are usually reliable. The Ultra omits MagSafe, leaving wireless‑charging capabilities uncertain, and packs only two rear lenses despite expectations of a premium price tag.

Comparing the Pro Max dummy to its 17 predecessor shows an unchanged chassis but a noticeably bulkier camera block. Including the plateau, the new model measures 11.54mm thick, up from 11.23mm, and total thickness reaches 13.77mm versus 12.92mm before. The Ultra’s unfolded screen matches the Pro Max’s length, standing 111.5mm tall and fitting within a footprint only slightly larger than an iPad mini.

Apple is expected to unveil all three devices at its September event, while the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 are slated for a spring rollout. A thicker camera island could improve sensor size, and the Ultra’s stripped‑down lens array hints at a different pricing strategy. Consumers will soon see whether the trade‑offs justify Apple’s premium positioning.
