Honor's latest MagicPad4 tablet shows modest battery life gains over its predecessor, achieving a 10:31h Active Use Score compared to the MagicPad 2's 9:42h. The 12.3-inch OLED device packs a 10,100mAh battery and supports 66W Honor SuperCharge, though it still trails behind some competitors in key areas.

The upgrade includes a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, along with a brighter 2,400-nit display running at 165Hz. While video playback jumped nearly two hours and gaming time improved slightly, web browsing remains problematic at under 8 hours. Honor's own budget Pad X9 scored better overall with 13:17h despite smaller hardware.

Charging performance tells a similar story of missed opportunities. The MagicPad4 reaches full capacity in 1 hour 40 minutes, trailing the OnePlus Pad 3's larger battery and 80W charging system. For a company that ships phones with 100W charging, the tablet's 66W feels underwhelming.

These tests reveal that Honor made incremental progress but hasn't solved underlying efficiency issues. The MagicPad4 needs better optimization for web tasks and faster charging to compete with premium Android tablets that offer superior endurance.
