Honor has confirmed its upcoming Magic8 Pro Air will pack a 5,500 mAh battery. The device, set for a January 19 launch, measures just 6.1mm thick and weighs 155g. It features a triple camera system with a 50MP main sensor and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens.

While this capacity is smaller than some rivals using silicon-carbon tech, it's surprisingly 10% larger than the battery in Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra. Honor claims it uses the highest energy-density battery ever in a flagship smartphone, achieving 917 Wh/L, which is remarkable given the device's ultra-slim profile.

The phone supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Recent Geekbench listings also hint at a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and 16GB of RAM. This launch is part of Honor's aggressive push into the premium thin-and-light smartphone segment, directly challenging established brands.
