Google will launch its first brick‑and‑mortar shop outside the United States this summer, choosing a high‑traffic spot on the first floor of Omokado in Tokyu Plaza, Omotesando, Tokyo. The 1,200‑square‑foot space will showcase Pixel smartphones, Nest smart home gear, Fitbit wearables and a range of accessories, plus on‑site AI demos. Visitors can also test upcoming AI‑driven features on demo devices.

Staffed by product specialists, the store will handle troubleshooting, initial setup and even carry out Pixel repairs, a service previously limited to mail‑in options. Customers can also pick up online orders placed through Google’s Japanese e‑store, tightening the link between digital and physical channels. The on‑site service aims at reducing turnaround time and building loyalty. The move mirrors Google’s broader push to give hardware a tangible presence worldwide.

Japan holds symbolic weight for Google—it was the company’s first overseas office and a long‑standing market for its services. By anchoring a flagship retail experience there, Google signals confidence in Japanese consumer demand for its ecosystem. The Omotesando outlet is likely the first of several international stores slated for rollout. Analysts view the shop as a testbed for future retail concepts.
