Last week’s poll asked which of Samsung’s new foldables caught your attention, and the clear winner was the Galaxy Z Fold8. Users praised its design, but many also noted the high cost.

The Fold8 starts at $1,900 for the 256‑GB model and the Z Fold8 Ultra begins at $2,100. Even the Z Flip8—often called the most affordable option—retails for $1,200, a steep price for a new device.

Samsung has historically seen prices fall in the months after launch, and that trend may continue once the current memory‑chip shortage eases. Until then, the cost remains a significant barrier for many buyers.

The Fold8’s slimmer, wider form factor and 4:3 inner screen make it ideal for daily use, while the polished software and De X enable a laptop‑like experience. Its primary drawback is the camera lineup, which would benefit from an extra telephoto sensor or larger battery.
