Aptoide has announced that Aptoide Games, its specialized games app store, has been approved for distribution on Google Play in the US. This follows Google's defeat in Epic Games' lawsuit, which forced the tech giant to allow third-party app stores on Google Play. The ruling led to Google's Third-party App Store on Play Program.

This marks a significant milestone for Aptoide, as Aptoide Games may be the first third-party app store available directly on Google Play. Previously, users had to visit Aptoide's website, download an APK, enable installation from unknown sources, and manually install the app. Now, it's as simple as downloading any other app from Google Play.

The change currently applies only in the US, where Google is required to permit third-party app stores. Elsewhere, Google continues to discourage such stores on Google Play and instead promotes a system where users can download verified third-party app stores from websites, with a simplified installation process for trusted sources.
