YouTube experienced a significant outage affecting users across the United States and several international markets including Canada, India, the Philippines, Australia, and Russia. Reports indicate the disruption began around 8 PM Eastern Time. By 9:22 PM, Downdetector recorded over 338,000 reports of service issues, though reports started tapering off by 10 PM.

While the YouTube website homepage was initially inaccessible, some users later reported partial restoration, seeing the homepage but lacking recommended videos. The issue also impacted Google services, with Downdetector noting thousands of reports of Google being down simultaneously. Engadget Managing Editor Cherlynn Low confirmed both YouTube and Google Home Assistant remained inaccessible for her as of 9:53 PM.

The outage was fully resolved by 10:12 PM Eastern Time, as confirmed by Team YouTube's X post, though the cause wasn't specified.
