Microsoft is reportedly planning to bring Xbox 360 games to PC, alongside titles from the original Xbox. This initiative, part of what is referred to as Project Helix, would allow developers to opt into making their Xbox 360 games backward compatible on PC and handheld systems, with the ability to set their own prices and bring titles to Game Pass.

This move builds on Microsoft's existing project to bring original Xbox games to PC, which was announced last month. A full launch for this program is expected in October, potentially with the addition of achievements for original Xbox games. Data miners have also discovered emulators within Microsoft's files that could facilitate this cross-platform compatibility.

Additionally, a disc-to-digital program, which would allow consumers to obtain digital versions of owned disc-based games, may be rolled out soon. A public beta was anticipated for Xbox Insiders in July, though a delay seems to have occurred. The specifics of whether future Xbox consoles will include disc drives remain unclear.
