Valve has unveiled pricing for its Steam Frame VR headset, starting at $1,059 for the 256GB model and rising to $1,299 for the 1TB version, including controllers. Buyers also get a rebuilt version of Half-Life: Alyx that runs entirely on the headset. Optional accessories include a $29 PSU, a $49 Accessory Replacement Kit, and a $59 Ergonomic Accessories Kit. Prescription lenses from Zenni Optical and an RGB camera from Arcturus are planned, with prices TBA.

The Steam Frame launched without delays, but Valve will use a reservation ordering system. Sign up between now and September 17th at 10 AM PT. A one-time randomization determines order, with emails sent on the 17th. First purchase emails go out September 18th. The headset supports 130 standalone verified titles, Gamepad mode, and improved multi-link streaming, input focus, depth projection, and visual sharpness.

Half-Life: Alyx took over a year of extra software work in Vulkan drivers and Steam VR, using foveated rendering and eye tracking. Buyers get a voucher, but the game won't arrive in time for launch; it's intended to ship soon.
