Ultrahuman Ring Pro Updates Smart Ring Tech

The Ultrahuman Ring Pro represents the company's latest effort to advance the competitive smart ring market, currently dominated by Oura. While the hardware is aesthetically superior to its predecessor, the Ring Air, the reviewer notes that the Ring Pro faces inherent form-factor limitations that prevent a quantum leap in functionality over existing devices. Ultrahuman, positioned as a top-tier maker, seeks to challenge the market leader with this redesigned unit, which addresses previous patent issues that blocked the Ring Air in the US.

The core upgrade centers on processing power. The Ring Pro features a dual-core chip compared to the Air's single-core unit, significantly increasing onboard storage to 250 days of memory, up from just four days. This enhanced capacity supports the company's new AI, Jade, intended to generate deeper historical insights. The physical redesign shifts to an all-titanium body, making it feel sturdier than the Air, although it remains very thin at just 0.25mm thicker than its predecessor.

Tracking capabilities remain standard for the category, including temperature and PPG sensing, but Ultrahuman prioritizes user safety by using a physical pin connection for charging to mitigate thermal issues associated with wireless charging. The battery life is rated up to 12 days in Turbo Mode. Despite these refinements, the Pro's overall advantage over rivals like the Oura 4 remains marginal, resting primarily on improved internal architecture and data storage depth.
