Meta continues its efforts to attract audio content creators to Threads. Platform head Connor Hayes announced today that the service is testing new features designed to promote podcasts. Specifically, he highlighted a resource capable of posting automatic transcriptions of audio clips. This functionality allows users scrolling through their feeds to read along even when sound is off.

Hayes noted that this transcription tool is just one of several podcast-sharing tools currently in development for the Meta-owned service. While there are no guarantees that any of these experimental features will receive a formal release, providing enhanced support for content creators appears to be a significant priority for the platform.

Podcasters have become a specific audience of interest for the social network. Last November, the text-focused Threads introduced promotional tools tailored specifically for the audiovisual format. As Threads continues to expand, offering specialized resources makes strategic sense.

The platform recently reached a major milestone, achieving 500 million monthly active users in June. This growth underscores the importance of integrating features that cater to diverse content types, ensuring the platform remains competitive and engaging for both creators and consumers.
