SpaceX will attempt to launch its Starship V3 for its debut flight today at 6:30PM Eastern time from Starbase, Texas. The company scrubbed Thursday's launch attempt when a hydraulic pin holding the tower arm failed to retract. This marks Starship's 12th overall test flight and the first for the significantly redesigned V3 version.

SpaceX's Starship V3 stands approximately five feet taller than previous iterations and features upgraded Raptor 3 engines. The Super Heavy stage houses 33 of these engines delivering over 18 million pounds of combined thrust. This version introduces advanced avionics capabilities designed for high flight-rate operations and full reusability.

For this initial test, SpaceX aims to demonstrate a complete flight profile including launch, ascent, stage separation, and landing. The upper stage will deploy satellite payloads while testing heat shield effectiveness and conducting maneuvers to evaluate the vehicle's return trajectory capabilities.
