Samsung Adds Amazon Music Pre‑Installed on Galaxy

Samsung is adding Amazon Music to the list of pre‑installed apps on its Galaxy phones and tablets ahead of its Galaxy Unpacked event. The move could be a minor annoyance for buyers, but Samsung and Amazon are offering a free three‑month subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited for anyone who downloads the app from the Samsung Galaxy Store.

Unlike Apple, which keeps its iPhones free of third‑party bloatware, Samsung’s Galaxy line now includes apps such as Facebook, Instagram, OneDrive, LinkedIn, and Spotify, all of which can take up more than 1GB of storage. Most of these apps can be uninstalled, though some – like Facebook – can only be disabled, leaving inactive data on the device.

To take advantage of the free trial, you must download Amazon Music from the Galaxy Store within 12 months of purchase. If you do not cancel, the subscription automatically renews at $13 per month.
