Liquid Swords, the new studio founded by Just Cause creator Christofer Sundberg, has announced that its debut game Samson: A Tyndalston Story will launch on April 8. The PC-exclusive noir action game puts players in the shoes of Samson McRay, a man drowning in debt in the gritty city of Tyndalston.

Priced at just $25, Samson aims to deliver a tight, narrative-driven experience that contrasts with the massive open-world scale Sundberg is known for. The game features a time-pressure mechanic where players must manage limited Action Points across jobs, with each decision affecting how the city treats them. "Every day has a cost," the developer explained in a press release.

Sundberg, who admits to feeling "worn out" by making "massive" games throughout his career, designed Samson as a bloat-free experience for fans of gritty '90s action flicks. The game will launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store with no current plans for console versions. A recent developer diary showcases the combat and driving mechanics that promise over-the-top action despite the game's compact scope.
