Ryan Coogler's long-awaited X-Files reboot has received a pilot order at Hulu, marking a major move for the acclaimed director. The project, three years in development, comes as part of Coogler's five-year exclusive television deal with Disney, Hulu's parent company. Coogler will direct and write the pilot episode, with Jennifer Yale serving as showrunner.

The reboot will follow the original premise of two FBI agents investigating paranormal and unexplained phenomena. Danielle Deadwyler, known for her roles in *Till* and *The Harder They Fall*, has signed on as co-lead. While the original stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are not confirmed to return, the show aims to capture the essence of the beloved sci-fi series.

The announcement coincides with Coogler's recent BAFTA win for Best Original Screenplay for *Sinners*, which also earned a record 16 Oscar nominations this year. The director, known for *Black Panther* and *Creed*, continues to expand his creative portfolio with this high-profile television project.
